DO MOST VENUES CHARGE PATRONS TO ATTEND YOUR PRESENTATION?
It truly depends on your site, whether it be a library, museum, hotel or local organization. Libraries typically do not charge, whereas museums usually include the admission fee with the presentation to hopefully draw more paying guests to the presentation. Hotels typically do not charge, and have the presentation as an added extra at the time of the guests stay. Local organizations usually have the presentation as part of their general meeting at a local restaurant.
IS THERE SOME TYPE OF THEME TO THE PRESENTATION?
Yes. The existence of Route 66 as a US Highway only lasted 59 years before being decommissioned by the Department of Transportation. The presentation will cover America’s Main Street decade by decade and will include snippets from past episodes, including the incredible logistics of paveing a cross country road, the migration of people to California during the Great Depression in search for a better life, the role of the road to help support the war effort, Route 66 in pop culture from one of the most popular songs ever written to a television series featuring Route 66, and the eventual demise of the road with the introduction of the Interstate system.
In addition, life both before and after the heyday of Route 66 will also be presented, including the attempt of travelers to cross the country over treacherous mountain passes even before the automobile existed to the incredible popularity of the road after being decommissioned. While Route 66 no longer exists today, and it was never the first or longest highway in America, there is an incredible fascination with this once popular highway with travelers.
What most people don’t realize is that Route 66 is very popular with international travelers, who come to America to travel a road that features a glimpse of life as Americans were living yesterday, not necessarily today.

IF WE BOOK A PRESENTATION, WILL YOU BE DOING SIMILAR PRESENTATIONS NEARBY?
No. To avoid any conflict of interest, presentations being booked along Route 66 will be at least 100 miles apart from one another. Many establishments are eager to book a presentation to draw patrons to their site, especially during special events throughout the year.
IF ROUTE 66 NO LONGER EXISTS, HOW CAN YOU TRAVEL THE ROAD TODAY?
Great Question! In essence, what was once Route 66 is now physically buried under the Interstate. However, almost every town and city that Route 66 once passed through still exists- and today can be found as “Main Street.” While most of these towns are vibrant communities, many have become literal ghost towns. When you leave the Interstate to stop for gas, food, or lodging- chances are the exit you’re taking will direct you to what was once the actual highway.
